| How does someone get to Heaven? |
The Bible tells us that, "all have sinned and fall short of God's glory." (Romans 3:23) This means that every one of us have done something against God's rules. Because of that sin, we can no longer meet God's standards. The Bible also tells us in Romans 6:23, "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ." This verse is not speaking about physical death, but spiritual death. In other words, what we deserve for our sin is to be eternally separated from God and spend eternity in Hell. But, the second half of the verse gives us the good news. It tells us that God has offered us a gift of eternal life in Heaven with Him. A gift is something we give to someone, not because they deserve it, but because we care. God has offered you that gift of eternal life in Heaven so that you would not have to go to Hell because He cares for you. John 3:16 tells us, "God loved the world so much, that He gave His only son, Jesus. Whoever believes in Him, will not perish, but have eternal life." This was God's gift and our only way to Heaven. Jesus is the only way to not go to Hell. Jesus lived life on this earth as a man and lived a perfect, sinless life. He died on the cross in your place. He died as a punishment for your sin. So, what does all this mean? Simply this: Because you are a sinner, you have been separated from God and deserve Hell. God has offered you a chance to be free from Hell and to claim a home in Heaven when you die. The way we do that is by giving our life to Jesus and living for Him now. This means to commit your life to living according to God's word, the Bible. You ask Jesus to forgive you of those sins in your life. Romans 10:9 tells us, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." If you believe Jesus died on the cross for you and that 3 days later, God raised Him from the dead- the next step is to commit your life to Him and ask Him to forgive you of the sin in your life. That is all it takes. If you can honestly say you believe this, then you are ready to pray and ask Jesus to be your savior. If you have never prayed to accept Christ as your savior and you are ready to do that now, pray the prayer below. The Bible tells us that if you can honestly pray what the prayer says below, you will be saved. No strings attached. Are you ready?
Dear Lord, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that you raised Him from the dead. I invite you to come into my life and save me from my sin. Help me to live my life for you from this moment on. Please help me to know you better now. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus' name I pray this prayer. AMEN!
If you prayed this prayer, we want to celebrate with you. Please fill out the form below and let us pray for you as you begin your new life in Jesus.

The Bible gives us several steps to do once we receive Jesus in our life. We are to be baptized as a symbol of the new life Jesus has given us. Baptism does not save you, it is always done as a response to the salvation a person has received. The Bible tells us to spend time with God often. We can do that through reading the Bible, praying, and going to church. We encourage you to find a local church in your area that you are comfortable attending. If you are in the Mid-Missouri area, we would love to have you join us. But, if you cannot come here, find a church you can attend. Make sure it is a Bible teaching, Christ centered church. To find a good church near you, you can go to the Missouri or Southern Baptist Convention's websites and do a "church search" to find a church near you. http://www.sbc.net/churchsearch/default.asp Once we receive your decision information, we will e-mail you and ask if you would like a New Testament Bible. If you do, we will need your address, so we can send it. We are not going to come to your house, we will not keep bothering you or pressuring you for any reason. When we send you a Bible, we will send you our pastor's business card, so you can contact him and that is all we will do with your information you share. We are not interested in getting anything from you. We just want to pray for you and be a resource for you as you begin your new life in Jesus. After we send you the Bible, we will not contact you again, unless you give us permission. So, please feel comfortable sharing your information with us. You are also welcome to contact us any of the ways listed on the "contact us" page. Please feel free to send us your questions and comments. Please know we love you and are praying for you already!
